Programme Research & Development Manager


With a background in creative and cultural learning and youth and community wellbeing, Amber has over 15 years experience using creative partnerships as a powerful tool for learning and social change. Amber has lead a number of award winning programmes supporting vulnerable young people to participate in life-changing opportunities, and supporting practitioners to work in more creative, innovative and inclusive ways.  

Amber is passionate about social justice and equity and an active champion for marginalized communities. Overseas she worked collaboratively with young people to develop shared solutions to complex social problems, ranging from neighbourhood projects to a pioneering UK wide national action research campaign championing youth leadership in cultural venues. Amber is experienced in working strategically between practice, policy and research to draw from best practice insights and inform thinking at all levels.

Alongside working with the fabulous Toi Ora whanau in a research and development role, Amber is doing doctoral research at University of Auckland researching creative ways to make a difference to youth mental health and wellbeing in Aotearoa New Zealand.
